They Are Coming for Your Kids, Part 1

They are coming for your kids . . . right through your church’s front door.

Perhaps you have heard about the startling video (with almost 1 million views) released in July 2021 by the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, in celebration of their recent Pride Month.

A news article posted some of the lyrics of this song and discussed the threats made therein:

In the song … the choir sings such phrases as, “we’ll convert your children” and “we’re coming for your children,” which was viewed as an overt threat to parents.

“You think we’re sinful. You fight against our rights,” one choir member sings in a solo at the beginning of the song. “You say we all lead lives you can’t respect. But you’re just frightened.”

“You think that we’ll corrupt your kids if our agenda goes unchecked,” he continues. “Funny, just this once, you’re correct. We’ll convert your children. Happens bit by bit. Quietly and subtly. And you will barely notice it.”

“You can keep them from disco,” the full chorus sings. “Warn about San Francisco. Make ’em wear pleated pants. We don’t care. We’ll convert your children. We’ll make them tolerant and fair … The gay agenda is coming home.”

If this threat had been made in earlier times, the alarm would not have been so great. But many parents have already become shocked by the brazen attempts by other, more trusted sectors of secular society to groom their children (and themselves) to accept the sinister LGBTQ+ agenda at public events, such as “Drag Queen Story Hour” (or DQSH) and other similar activities, at libraries, restaurants, fundraisers, etc. (A secular cultural analyst has researched and explained the origin and true agenda of DQSH in this R-rated (for language) article, and a Christian discernment writer has also briefly explained its dangers in this article).

However, what many are unaware of is that the LGBTQ+ agenda is surprisingly being pushed in our churches as well. This article will demonstrate that an ever-increasing number of influential “evangelical Christian” leaders have subversively brought this same exact agenda into our Bible-believing churches over the past decade, and now they’re not even bothering to hide it.

As Jude warned his readers (v.4), false teachers will “[creep] in unnoticed,” and Peter (2 Pe. 2:1) cautions that they “will secretly introduce strange doctrines,” such as these modern manifestations: the whole range of heretical LGBTQ+ teachings (derived from the same secular queer theorists who concocted the DQSH); rationalizations in support of, or in sympathy with, abortion; Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Social Justice indoctrination; false, mystical spirituality (including Lectio Divina, Contemplative prayer, and Heavenly Tourism); and even the open apostasies of Pluralism and Universalism.

In addition, most believers do not realize that this leftist, “woke” agenda has already infiltrated nearly all so-called “Christian” parachurch ministries and organizations as well, even those that were formerly theologically sound.

As a result, churches and individual believers are unwittingly funding and facilitating the implementation of the LGBTQ+ agenda they so ardently oppose.

So what are the basic components of that nefarious agenda? Here are just a few key planks:

1) to break down the integrity of the family unit, including monogamous, heterosexual relationships,

2) to normalize the practice of homosexuality by changing definitions of keywords in both the culture and in our churches, even if that requires many imperceptible, incremental steps

3) to ultimately groom children and teenagers for participation in public sexual acts with them (such as DQSH), or as private sexual partners for themselves.

However, as this insightful article points out, instead of preventing and condemning these invasions into our churches, many pastors and church leaders have largely abdicated their role as shepherds and guardians of the truth. (The scriptural passages that instruct our spiritual leaders in these biblical duties are found throughout 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus and 2 Peter).

As a result, numerous churches have totally capitulated to the “woke” agenda, as demonstrated by the video contained in the above article. It features a man being publicly affirmed in front of his entire church in his gross sin of transgenderism.

Several courageous leaders have warned about this invasion over the past 8 years, including former homosexual, Dr. Robert (Bobby) Lopez (BA Yale; PhD in English, SUNY-Buffalo; MA in Classics, SUNY-Buffalo).

In this 2019 phone interview (begins @ 38:12) with Bryan Fischer, Lopez warns about the insidious theological compromise within the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) regarding the fallacious “middle position” on homosexuality known as “Same-Sex Attraction, or “SSA.” Partial transcript: Part 1, Part 2.

Professor Lopez had been pressured by his Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) superiors to refrain from speaking about sexual abuse within the LBGTQ+ community, and about the Christian hope that homosexuals can, in fact, be transformed by the Holy Spirit and become happily married heterosexuals, just as he had.

Lopez was eventually fired for failing to comply with their unbiblical demands. Seminary officials admitted that the real reason for this was political pressure from pro-LGBTQ+ leaders within the SBC’s ERLC (Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission), led by its then-President, Dr. Russell Moore.

The next leader who is warning about the LGBTQ+ agenda is Rev. Thomas Littleton, an SBC evangelist and writer, whose research blog, www.thirtypiecesofsilver.org, documents the ever-increasing apostasy within the denomination. Littleton publishes deep-dive articles in their raw, unedited form for other bloggers and discernment websites to repackage and disseminate.

Littleton is also a friend of Lopez, and in this article, he also rightly blames a very close friend and mentor of Moore, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) President, Dr. Albert Mohler, for Lopez’s firing.

[In order to properly understand the reasons for this inexplicable persecution of Lopez, who is someone that, instead, should be celebrated as a trophy of God’s grace for being redeemed out of a homosexual lifestyle, it is necessary to back up to at least 2010. Rev. Littleton has explained the gradual infiltration of the “Same-Sex Attraction” heresy into evangelical seminaries and the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) during that time period.]

It is important to remember that Moore, who was Mohler’s protégé from SBTS, was appointed to head the ERLC in 2013, with the help of his mentor’s behind-the-scenes influence. Then in 2014, these two SBC leaders made a coordinated assault on two key aspects of the orthodox biblical view of homosexuality, which were held by Mohler himself not long beforehand (sexual orientation, 2005, and reparative therapy, 2011).

Mohler strategically chose the occasion of the first-ever ERLC National conference, held Oct. 27-29, 2014, on “The Gospel, Homosexuality and the Future of Marriage” to announce his “repentance” to the homosexual community (emphasis added by this article’s author):”

“One of the things we should not be embarrassed to say is that we are learning. One of the embarrassments that I have to bear is that I have written on some of these issues now for nearly 30 years, and at a couple of points I have to say ‘I got that wrong,’ and we have to go back and correct it, correct it by Scripture.

“Now early in this controversy, I felt it quite necessary, in order to make clear the gospel, to deny anything like a sexual orientation. And speaking at an event of the National Association of Evangelicals twenty-something years ago, I made that point. I repent of that.”

Mohler also indicated that he had changed his 2011 orthodox position on reparative therapy:

“Put simply, most people experiencing a same-sex attraction tell of discovering it within themselves at a very early age, certainly within early puberty. As they experience it, a sexual attraction or interest simply “happens,” and they come to know it.

The concept of sexual orientation is not only helpful, it is in some sense essential. Even those who argue against its existence have to describe and affirm something tantamount to it. There is a pattern of sexual interest and attraction that is discovered in early adolescence. It is not something that is, in itself, freely chosen.”

Another critic of the LGBTQ+ agenda is well-respected author and YouTube video producer, British medical doctor, E.S. Williams, who is a member of Metropolitan Tabernacle Church in London (founded by C.H. Spurgeon). In his videos, Williams has exhaustively analyzed and critiqued the heretical Trojan-Horse deception known as “Same-Sex Attraction (SSA),” which purports that a true Christian may remain in a state of permanent, homosexual lust because, allegedly, the indwelling Holy Spirit is unable to regenerate those desires or change one’s “sexual orientation.”

Williams rightly identifies the three central figures pushing this heresy into the SBC and beyond: Russell Moore, Albert Mohler, and British “Gay Christian” Anglican priest, Sam Allberry in this hour-long video, “Albert Mohler and the Gay revolution”:

(By the way, Williams cites the relevant excerpts from Mohler’s infamous 2014 ERLC “repentance” speech from about 39:00-45:00.)

At this point, it is necessary to understand precisely from a theological standpoint why the so-called “Same-Sex Attraction” (SSA) theology is heretical. Perhaps the most cogent critique was written in 2019 by Cody Libolt (MA in Worship Leadership, SBTS) when discussing the puzzling endorsement of Sam Allberry by another previously respected theologian, Ligon Duncan, President of Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson.

Then in his follow-up article, Libolt drills down on the specific biblical passages that explicitly condemn and forbid evil thoughts and desires, refuting the unbiblical claims of the proponents of SSA theology, such as Allberry, Moore, Mohler, Duncan and others.

While the compromises that these “Christian” leaders have made are already enormous, there are other serious implications arising out of this SSA heresy due to their sinister efforts to normalize other unnatural desires and sexual sins as well.

This is because both secular and “Christian” leaders have already applied this false SSA distinction between the desire to commit a sin (which they claim isn’t inherently sinful) and the act of committing the sin (which they theoretically agree is sinful). Thus, if it’s OK for a man with “Same-Sex Attraction” to lust after other men, as long as he doesn’t actually commit acts of sodomy (but is permitted to cohabit with, and receive physical affection from, another man), then what is biblically wrong with someone who experiences desires to have sex with children or even worse? As long as they don’t actually follow through, shouldn’t we accept them as they are?

Of course, these fallacious arguments were aptly refuted by the previous articles cited, especially those by Libolt. But because pastors and their flocks are so biblically illiterate these days, as Pastor Jim Andrews often says, they are often sucked in and persuaded by this deceitful sophistry.

For an example in secular academia, former Old Dominion Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice, Dr. Allyn Walker (and others) have encouraged the substitution of the term, “MAP (Minor Attracted Person),” for pedophile in order to avoid causing stigma.

This Christian discernment article begins by listing Walker’s horrifying statements about MAPs . . .

“A lot of people when they hear the word pedophile, they automatically assume that means sex offender. That isn’t true. And it leads to a lot of misconceptions about attractions toward minors.’…From my perspective, there is no morality or immorality attached to attraction to anyone because no one can control who they’re attracted to at all.

In other words, it’s not who we’re attracted to, that’s either okay or not, okay? It’s our behaviours and responding to that attraction that are either okay or not, okay. And I want to be extremely clear that child sexual abuse is never ever okay. But having an attraction to minors as long as it isn’t acted on, doesn’t mean that the person who has those attractions is doing something wrong.

I think we have a tendency to want to categorise people with these with these attractions as evil- excuse me- as evil or morally corrupt. But when we’re talking about non- offending maps, these are people who have an attraction that they didn’t ask for. And one that is, frequently they would get anything to change, but they find that they’re unable to change those attractions.”

… and then it proceeds to point out the theological slippery slope created back in 2018 by the leading “Christian” SSA proponents who founded the Revoice conference, an interdenominational and interfaith (!) movement for LGBTQ+ “Christians” [our comments in brackets]:

“Revoice, led by Nate Collins, Preston Sprinkle, Tish Harrison Warren, among others, argue that it’s not the attraction that is a sin, but the act itself. [Thus, following that logic,] It would not be a sin to be attracted to children, only if one acts out sexually with that wee one.

In fact, PCA [Presbyterian Church in America] Pastor Greg Johnson [host of the first Revoice conference in 2018] is on record as saying he would be open to hosting a “Christian Pedophile Conference,” designed to support, encourage and empower pedophile Christians – people who are attracted to children, sexually – so that they can ‘flourish while observing the historic Christian doctrine of marriage and sexuality.”

Yes, that is what Pastor Greg Johnson really said. In addition, he has also …

1) stated as far back as 2018 the same desire to host such a conference.

2) stated that same-sex physical intimacy is permissible between “Christian” homosexuals (as long as it doesn’t result in sexual acts), and

3) stated that gay couples should remain married after “coming to Jesus.”

Pastor Jim Andrews (after learning about the complete apostasy of Dr. Mohler and other SBC leaders into this SSA heresy) poignantly and “prophetically” wrote this in his April, 2019 article, “Capitulation or Confrontation: A Time to Man Up,”

“Along with that, they [the ‘Christian’ advocates for the LGBTQ+ ‘community’] condone the effort to “naturalize” homosexuality and to declare homosexual affinities just another example of human diversity rather than another sad example of the whole garden of human perversities. Some of them are so anxious to placate the culture and court its affirmation that they even come forward, if you can believe it, with proclamations of repentance and confession for their historic sins for doing injury to the “alphabet community” with their “judgmental” stance inherited from the past (meaning the Scriptures). This biblical stance proclaims that so-called same-sex attraction is a lust to be progressively mortified by the Spirit working through the Word, just as other sinful desires should be. Notice that it is a temptation to be rejected, not proof of an unchangeable orientation. Yet I fear we are not done with these ever-evolving travesties. The same cultural sycophants can be expected, as it gathers momentum and on the same specious logic, to jump up in support of normalizing pedophilia. It’s coming.”

So then, how did this SSA heresy continue to spread after Mohler’s stunning 2014 reversal of everything he had previously believed? The July 23, 2018 article of Littleton, already linked above, provides much of the necessary background to inform the reader.

What is most alarming is how carefully planned and orchestrated this entire rollout period from 2014-2018 was, having been coordinated by leaders from multiple denominations and their entities (especially the SBC and PCA, including the SBC’s ERLC) and parachurch organizations (esp. The Gospel Coalition, TGC). In fact, it has been noted that the personnel of two of these organizations, the ERLC and the TGC, are nearly identical, thus sharing the same agenda.

At this point, more details are required to understand the other key players. Again, Littleton and Williams have thoroughly researched the leading SSA proponents who have influenced so many, Sam Allberry and Nate Collins.

As Williams explains in the video displayed above, British “Gay Christian” Anglican priest, Sam Allberry, was put forth by Moore & Mohler in 2014 as the new SSA “role model” for the Church, first at the T4G conference in June, and later at the inaugural ERLC National conference in October.

Dr. Nate Collins (as Littleton confirms in the aforementioned July 23, 2018 article) spent a decade and a half at SBTS as a student/teaching fellow/instructor under Mohler’s full knowledge and supervision at SBTS while also publicly partnering with his father, Chip Collins (faculty member and later Assistant Dean at Boyce College—SBTS’s feeder school), to publicize this new heresy.

In fact, Collins’s 2017 PhD dissertation argued that 1 Corinthians 7 contains a Greek word that proves the existence of a heretofore undiscovered “secondary gender identity” (meaning, not one’s biological sex, but a social construct that was neither male nor female) in the Bible. From his alleged proof text, Collins then argued that the Church must accept the full range of the LGBTQ+ propaganda and beliefs. Collins even cites as experts those who were prominent feminists, queer theorists, and at least one influential homosexual who influenced Margaret Sanger.

It may be difficult to believe that Collins’s dissertation could be written, let alone accepted by his three supervising professors, at one of the most conservative seminaries in the entire country. But this illustrates just how far Mohler has allowed SBTS to drift off its foundations into every heresy in seminary circles and into every Marxist fad in secular academia.

Professors Thomas R. Schreiner (Chair), Jarvis J. Williams, and Gregg R. Allison all signed off on the work, allowing Collins to receive his PhD in 2017.

Collins then founded Revoice in 2018, as previously mentioned, in order promote the SSA agenda nationwide and was the keynote speaker at the inaugural conference. In his address, he caused shockwaves by comparing “Same-Sex Attracted Christians” to suffering Old Testament prophets who were mistreated in the course of fulfilling their mission to decry the idolatry of God’s people. Video (begin @56:27 through 1:10:20) or article.

Here is Collins’s chilling quote about the “calling” of “gay Christians” for the Church:

“Is it possible that gay people today are being sent by God, like Jeremiah, to find God’s words for the church, to eat them and make them our own, to shed light on contemporary false teachings and even idolatries, not just the false teaching of the progressive sexual ethic, but other more subtle forms of false teaching?”
